Many people don´t train when they are 30 because it isn´t noticeable that it is so important to run (or train, etc.) regularly. Only with the time, you will notice that you should have done a little cardio session but then it is normally too late. (if you start later it is better than never)

Do I have to run 20 miles daily?

No, you don´t have to run that much. If you train, run etc. for 30-60 minutes per day, that is enough.

If you are not a big fan of running or working out, no problem. If you walk daily then it has exactly the same effect. So it is not important what you do, the only thing is that you should do something.
